Did Dr Harshvardhan blow away the only chance he had?

Finally, the jigsaw puzzle of #WhoWillFormTheGovt in Delhi is finally seeing some light with AAP leader Kumar Vishwas' announcement on probable government formation (with tacit support from Congress) after BJP declined to do so even after Lt Guv's invitation to form the minority govt. With this BJP aspirant Dr Hrshvardhan's only chance of becoming chief minister seem to have vanished.

No one wanted elections again, keeping this in mind, when the Governor invited BJP should have accepted the offer and tried to form a govt, at least, till the first trust vote. They would have had few days of time to convince AAP to support to avoid immediate elections again. Remember Vajpayee in 1996?? He lost the trust vote and his government in 13 days, but, he won the hearts millions to make a strong comeback in 1998. Her's what Dr Harshvardhan should have done following the invitation:

1) A simple swearing in ceremony, with a small team of senior ministers.
2) A co-ordination committee with like minded people to address immediate concerns of Delhi if the govt wins the trust vote.
3) A strong message on corruption, price rise and women safety during the trust vote debate.
4) Open appeal to AAP and Kejriwal to give time for at least 6 months and inviting their active role in governance.

Despite this, if AAP would have brought the government down in the very first trust vote, without giving chance to prove BJP's credentials, then BJP would have had greater chance to get more seats in case of a re-poll. But, rejecting the offer to form govt and trying to play safe has only confused the voters about devious plans (If there are any) and lean more towards AAP, who has had a tremendous run in this elections and are seemingly more honest than others in present scenario. Now, even if they refuse the governor's invitation to form govt, they can always shift the blame on BJP who have failed to form the govt with more number of seats.

So, Dr Harshvardhan might well have blown the only chance of chief minister-ship, and he alone is to be blamed for this. But if AAP too rejects the offer and forces one more elections, then who knows, Sheila Dixit is waiting eagerly for tomorrow's meeting.
